Thank you for your interest in joining MAPPS, the only association of private geospatial firms in the United States. Membership in MAPPS is on a yearly basis, by joining now you will receive all the MAPPS members benefits through December 31, 2008.
A new member joins as EITHER an "Active Member Firm" or an "Associate Member Firm" or an "Emeritus Member." Please review the definitions below to determine your firm's category. In addition to your member category (Active, Associate or Emeritus), any firm may become a "Sustaining Member" (see the benefits noted below) or join the PA Chapter of MAPPS if eligible.
Member Firm
Definition: Any firm whose home office is located in the United States of America and is engaged in the geospatial profession may become an active member by making written application to the President accompanied by payment of one year's dues. "Engaged in the geospatial profession" means any private, for-profit organization where one of its purposes is the creation, collection, dissemination and application of geo-referenced graphical or digital data to depict natural or manmade physical features, phenomena, or boundaries of the earth, geospatial intelligence, and any information related thereto, including any such data that comprises a survey, map, chart, geographic information system, remotely sensed satellite or aerial image or data.
Member Firm dues are based on total number of employees (full or part time) on the firm’s payroll:
1- 10 Employees -- $1,000
11- 50 Employees -- $1,250
51-100 Employees -- $1,750
101-150 Employees -- $3,000
151-250 Employees -- $5,000
More than 250 Employees -- $7,000
Associate Member Firm
Definition: Any firm engaged in the manufacturing and/or supplying of geospatial equipment, services, supplies, hardware or software, that supports but is not engaged in the geospatial profession, any firm not engaged in but with an interest in the geospatial field, and any firm meeting the definition of "Engaged in the geospatial profession" whose home office is located outside of the United States of America may become an associate member by making written application, accompanied by payment of one year's dues.
Associate Member Firm dues are as follows:
Annual sales of $5 million or less -- $1,250
Annual sales of more than $5 million -- $3,000
Emeritus Member
Definition: Any individual who has been an officer of a firm which has been an active or associate member firm for at least the preceding five consecutive years, who has reached the age of 60 years, who has retired from such firm and is no longer engaged in a full time practice in the geospatial profession may become an Emeritus Member by making written application accompanied by payment of one year's dues. Emeritus Members will have the same rights and privileges as Active Members.
Emeritus Member Dues -- $100
Sustaining Member Firm
Definition: Any firm which desires to sustain the programs and activities of MAPPS may upgrade to Sustaining Member. Sustaining Member firms receive special recognition at MAPPS meetings and in MAPPS publications. The Sustaining Member categories are listed below.
Silver -- MAPPS Base Dues + $250
Gold -- MAPPS Base Dues + $500
Platinum -- MAPPS Base Dues + $1000
Pennsylvania Chapter Member
Definition: Any firm with an office or interest in geospatial activities in Pennsylvania may join the state chapter of MAPPS.
PA Chapter Dues -- MAPPS Base Dues + $250
