On June 25, the Business Coalition for Fair Competition
(BCFC) is hosting a forum in historic downtown Fredericksburg, Virginia to measure the impact and scope of unfair non-profit (including university) competition with the private sector, including small business. MAPPS members are invited to attend to provide case studies of non-profit, including university, competition with the private sector.
The SBA Office of Advocacy will attend in a listening capacity to hear from a wide range of markets, professions and industries. This government agency is considering this issue as part of their "Innovation Initiative", an effort focused on the specific needs and concerns faced by companies and entrepreneurs. Representatives of individual private sector firms, trade associations and policy groups are welcome to attend.
With Congress working on comprehensive tax reform and with the SBA Office of Advocacy attending, you can help influence those institutions to modify existing regulation and legislation.
This forum is scheduled for June 25 from 9:45am - 2:00pm at The Inn at Fredericksburg Square, 525 Caroline Street, Fredericksburg, Virginia 22401.
Fredericksburg is just a short (less than 1 hour) drive south of Washington, DC and is accessible by the Virginia Railway Express (VRE). The Inn at Fredericksburg is a short walk from the VRE station.
