Position Title: Technical Support Consultant

The Opportunity

To support our ever-growing user community, CARIS is seeking dynamic Technical Support Consultants who have practical experience in geo-spatial applications and a desire to utilize their combination of technical, customer service and presentation skills in a client responsive environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Build and develop excellent professional relationships with existing clients
  • Analyze current client systems, identify technical issues, formulate responses and solutions to questions
  • Deliver high quality support to our valued clients via telephone, email and on-line Help Desk
  • Apply and further develop industry knowledge to identify new opportunities for CARIS products
  • Utilize professional presentation/training skills to deliver training sessions and technical workshops
  • Continuously enhance knowledge and skills in the area of problem solving, effective communication and the evolving CARIS product line.

Qualifications:

  • Experience with geo-spatial applications (land management and/or municipal, internet based applications, hydrographic surveys or nautical chart production)
  • Desire to provide client solutions and superior customer service
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills
  • Ability to work well independently and in a high performance team environment
  • Good team building skills
  • Fluent English language skills, both oral and written
  • Spanish or French language skills an asset
  • Bachelor's degree or diploma and/or work experience in geo-spatial applications, geography, computer science, information systems, engineering, environmental science or a related field
  • Familiarity with GIS and technical terms and the ability to communicate technical information clearly and concisely
  • Ability and willingness to travel globally
