To facilitate further expansion, we are now recruiting for a Project Manager for our Murfreesboro, TN and Birmingham, AL offices.

SUMMARY:

The Project Manager will oversee all technical and production aspects of an individual project. This role is responsible for taking a project from project award through final delivery and making assignments to project tasks and enforcing internal project schedules and deadlines.

Duties:
  • Coordinate, monitor and supervise the activities of project personnel, ensuring individual job assignments are achieved in support of project requirements;
  • Provide guidance and leadership to all aspects of a project;
  • Responsible for taking a project from project award through final delivery;
  • Make assignments to project tasks and enforce internal project schedules and deadlines;
  • Maintain an awareness of the scope, schedule, budget and status of all projects under the Production Manager's direction;
  • Responsible for all project communication with the client and any other contractors (Prime or Sub), including communicating production/schedule issues and project status reports;
  • Consult with the Production Manager regarding estimates of fees, billing amounts, personnel issues, equipment needs, etc;
  • Develop and maintain client confidence in our staff and operations by maintaining a high level of professionalism, transparency, accountability, and performance;
  • Interpret and communicate overall organizational directives and apply them to project and individual objectives;
  • Provide input to the Production Manager on individual employee performance;
  • Use e-mail to receive and read company posted messages and in communicating with personnel on a company-wide basis;
  • Assume other special activities and responsibilities from time to time as assigned;
Qualifications:
  • Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's Degree in Geographic Information Systems, Planning, Geography, Business Administration or a closely related field. (Will consider experience in lieu of education requirements);
  • Three to five years of project management experience in a Geospatial environment;
  • PMP certification preferred;
  • Ability to develop and monitor project schedules and timelines to identify and meet critical milestones;
  • Experience managing multiple projects with competing priorities;
  • Excellent proposal development and presentation skills;
  • Strong organizational skills; ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast paced environment;
  • Must be willing to travel between all of the offices which includes our Murfreesboro, TN, Birmingham, AL, and St. Louis, MO offices;
  • Strong work ethic;
  • In depth knowledge of project management practices and policies;
  • Accurate planning, preparation, and anticipation skills;
  • Team player mentality;
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with demonstrated ability to conduct effective client presentations and written report preparation;
  • Must be a U.S. citizen to be considered for this position;
  • Applicants selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information prior to actual employment;

Physical Activities of the Job. This job requires the following physical activities: Climbing (stairs), stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing and repetitive motions.

Visual Acuity Requirements of the Job. This job meets the minimum standards for use with those whose work deals largely with computer operations at distances close to the eyes.

Physical Requirements of the Job. Sedentary work involving sitting much of the time.

Environmental Conditions of the Job. None: The employee is not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions.
