Radar Engineer – Palo Alto, CA

Company is seeking a full time Intermediate Radar Engineer Signal Analysis to work with our SkySAR synthetic aperture radar (SAR) development team. The candidate will work closely with our Lead Radar Engineer to evaluate and improve the performance of SkySAR through advanced analysis of radar data, and to develop new applications and capabilities for the SkySAR sensor.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The successful applicant will demonstrate expertise in the following:

SAR data and image analysis; SNR, SCR, resolution, and sidelobe measurements and calculations.
System performance analysis.
Development and implementation of SAR image formation algorithms and software.
May involve implementation on high-performance hardware such as GPUs.

Education and Experience Requirements

MS degree in EE, Physics, or similar, directly applicable area
Minimum 5 years experience in data processing and signal analysis.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Requirements

Software development experience with C++, Java, and MATLAB.
Detailed understanding of SAR, and image formation techniques.
Detailed understanding of Signal Processing, Image Processing, and Statistics. Well developed verbal and written communication skills.
Desirable:
Knowledge of advanced SAR techniques, such as polarimetric change detection, tomography, and autofocus.
Experience with GPU and CUDA development.
Experience with UHF, L, and X-band radar.
Hands-on experience with radar hardware and radar systems

This position may be split into 2 or 3 part time positions. Advanced level graduate students with experience and interest in radar, and signal and image processing are encouraged to apply.
