Job summary
Are you passionate about software quality? Do you have background in remote sensing, geospatial imaging and/or image processing? ERDAS is seeking a Software Quality Assurance (QA) Engineer to join a talented development team, and help enhance quality, reliability and performance of the industry's leading Remote Sensing software product, ERDAS IMAGINE. As a Software QA Engineer, you'll participate in the full software development lifecycle in a fast-paced, quality-driven agile software development environment.
Summary of essential job functions
- Participate in the full software development lifecycle (SDLC) to ensure quality objectives are met for leading desktop Remote Sensing product suite.
- Responsible for one or more aspects of the full test lifecycle, including design of quality objectives and test strategies, creating test plans, implementing and executing test scripts, conducting interactive and automated testing, writing test documentation and providing progress and completion reports.
- Create and validate test data for functional components of the product
- Identify defects, and collaborate with SW development team to analyze/fix/verify.
- Help maintain and enhance a framework for automated testing.
Qualifications and Experience
- Minimum B.Sc in geospatial sciences (Remote Sensing, Geography, Forestry or related fields); M.Sc preferred
- Domain knowledge and experience in remote sensing, image processing and/or GIS. Knowledge of advanced imaging technologies (Radar, SAR, hyperspectral) a plus
- Experience in software quality assurance and/or automated testing.
- Highly motivated team player, with strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and a desire for continuous learning
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to obtain a US Security Clearance is required.
- Experience using ERDAS IMAGINE or related software products a plus
- Knowledge and experience in photogrammetry a plus
- Experience using scripting tools (Python, Perl) a plus
