Please join your fellow MAPPS members in Maryland for a very special meeting.

On Friday, March 9 from 10:30 AM to 12:00 noon at the offices of Photo Science in Bowie, MD, we will convene a meeting to discuss geospatial activities in the state of Maryland.

Our guests will include:
Barney Krucoff, Geographic Information Officer of the State of Maryland
Jim Cannistra, Maryland Department of Planning
Ken Miller, Department of Information Technology

Under Barney's direction, a new Executive Order is being drafted for Governor O'Malley. Maryland has an existing executive order that establishes the state's geospatial program. One problem with that order is the executive committee includes only state agencies. The governor has given Barney the go ahead to draft a new order that will expand membership on the executive committee to include private sector representatives.

Join us for a discussion of the new Executive Order, issues such as university and government competition, licensing of photogrammetrists in Maryland, and future state geospatial activities.

Additionally, we will discuss the desirability of creating MD-MAPPS, a new state chapter of MAPPS, as we have done in Pennsylvania and Colorado, and are doing in Georgia.

Photo Science's office is just off Route 50 between the Beltway and Annapolis, convenient to our members from the Eastern Shore to Frederick.
