Thursday, March 13
Presenter: John Palatiello, MAPPS Executive Director.

Webinar Objective: MAPPS advocates for public-private partnerships utilizing the private sector to the maximum extent possible by government at all levels. In addition, MAPPS supports education programs to attract and prepare students for professional careers. The association supports laboratory work to expose students to practical application of the theory and classroom education they receive. We support work-study programs and internships. And we support legitimate research by universities. However, when a college/university, non-profit or government agency engages in offering and performing services that are commercially available from private, for-profit firms, the university or government agency is in unfair competition with the private sector.

This webinar will provide more in-depth background of the issue and MAPPS position. Government and university competition is one of four issues MAPPS members will address on Capitol Hill during the 2014 Federal Programs Conference.
The MAPPS Federal Programs Conference is a members only event.
