MAPPS 2016 Winter Conference

The 2016 Winter Conference will take on a new look and feel with all the usual programs and activities of a MAPPS Winter Meeting, with three major improvements and revisions. Sessions will extend longer each day, but will conclude with networking activities that will welcome spouses (and there will still be a separate spouse program). The program will have two tracks – one for principals, owners and partners and a second for emerging leaders – those currently in middle management positions who are the next generation of principals, owners and partners in MAPPS member firms. While maintaining the usual quality of MAPPS conferences, we will be able to offer a lower price and greater value by (a) holding the conference in Las Vegas where airfares are significantly lower than many other cities, (b) providing a hotel rate that is lower than is usually the case at MAPPS, and (3) offering a registration fee less than recent MAPPS winter conferences and including a 2-tiered rate for principals and next generation managers.

Hotel

Green Valley Ranch
2300 Paseo Verde
Henderson, Nevada 89052

The MAPPS block of hotel rooms at the Green Valley Ranch, and the hotel itself, is almost sold out.  You may try to call the hotel reservation line at 1 866-782-9487 and use the code GCIMAPP to check on availability.  If you cannot make a reservation at the Green Valley Ranch, below are two alternatives within close proximity.

Homewood Suites by Hilton (Henderson)
10450 South Eastern Avenue, Henderson, Nevada, United States 89052
Phone: 702-450-1045
Homewood is 2/5 miles (5 minute drive) from the Green Valley and has a shuttle that goes to Green Valley Ranch every half hour from 7:00 AM to 10:00 PM.

Springhill Suites by Marriott (Henderson)
1481 Paseo Verde Parkway, Henderson, Nevada, United States 89012 (near intersection of I-215 and Stephanie St.), is 2.9 miles and 6 minutes from the Green Valley Ranch, but does not provide transportation.
Phone:  702-270-0995

Please call Sally Palatiello, MAPPS Meeting Planner, at 703-787-6996 if you need any assistance.

Transportation

Green Valley Ranch Resort has a  complimentary shuttle that runs between McCarran International Airport and the resort from 7:30 AM to 9:30 PM. First pickup is at the airport at 7:30 AM. Pickups are every two hours.  The shuttle is limited to 14 passengers.  The Green Valley Ranch Shuttle is located at the airport in Terminal 1 – level 0 – which is located one level below the baggage claim area.  Look for the “Courtesy Shuttle” Sign.   For more information about the Green Valley Ranch Shuttle call 702-617-7745.  There is also the option of taking the Super Shuttle.  The Super Shuttle will also take you directly to the Green Valley Ranch.  You must make a reservation for the Super Shuttle by calling 1-800-258-3826 or go to http://www.supershuttle.com/Locations/LasVegasLAS.  This shuttle costs approximately $12 each way.

Networking Activity - Build-A-Golf Course Team Building Event
Networking, friendly competition, and service to others are all important parts of MAPPS. Our Monday afternoon group activity is a "Build-A-Golf Course" program, in which all MAPPS participants will get to know their colleagues and teammates, while having fun, being competitive and creative, and performing a community service. MAPPS conference participants, including spouses, form teams that are provided with unique materials, such as canned food and household items, necessary to design and build a creative golf course. Once the contest has been completed, the items used for this fun activity will be donated to a local Las Vegas charity.
