   Session Highlights

Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR): The Next “Earth Shattering” Technology

MAPPS member firms and others will review how this burgeoning technology is impacting the geospatial sciences. Manufacturers, End Users, and Practitioners will discuss how this technology and related opportunities may affect our businesses.

How Does MAPPS Grow?
The growth of any organization is both a blessing and curse. In this session, MAPPS members will participate in a discussion focused on discussing not only HOW to grow MAPPS, but WHAT the implications are for MAPPS with a broadly- or narrowly-defined membership.

MAPPS Strategic Planning

Closely related to "How Does MAPPS Grow?", this session is held every few years so membership can review MAPPS current strategic plan and discuss how it should change to best meet the needs and desires of the membership.

LiDAR Control and QA/QC: A Different Animal
Ground truth and quality control process for LiDAR projects have different requirements than typical photogrammetric projects. USGS, FEMA, ASPRS have guidelines but what qualifies as good practice? Presentation will review best practices for field survey, data processing, LiDAR QC during production and QA to support final deliver. This session will be a review of requirements to support 3DEP and other LiDAR programs, and a review of equipment, software and processes that support successful projects.

Conducting a Good Employment Interview
Experts will teach members tips on how to ensure the best results from these important conversations.

Emerging Leaders
Last and not least, and back by popular demand, MAPPS will have a second educational track for our Emerging Leaders. Member firm principles are encouraged to bring their emerging leaders for training tailored to our geospatial realities that are difficult to find elsewhere. At this meeting there will be two courses for our emerging leaders in: Operations Management Marketing
