The Federal Programs Conference is the most important event on the annual MAPPS calendar. At this conference, members will hear briefings from major federal agencies on their budgets, programs, and upcoming contracting opportunities. It would take a firm months and tens of thousands of dollars to compile the Federal market overview you'll get in one day at the MAPPS conference. Members will also go to Capitol Hill to visit their state's U.S. Representative and Senators, advocating for legislation that will benefit private geospatial firms and the clients they serve. If you've never attended, MAPPS staff will prepare you for your Congressional visits. MAPPS is the only organization that hosts an activity like this representing the geospatial profession. This is the only event on the MAPPS calendar that is for members only.

Transportation
Reagan National Airport (DCA)
From Reagan National Airport, you can take Metro to the Westin City Center. Take a blue line train to McPherson Square station. Walk three blocks north on 15th Street, turn right on M Street and the Westin City Center will be on your right.
If you prefer to take a taxi from National Airport to the Westin City Center, the fare is approximately $14, excuding any tip.
If you fly into Dulles International Airport (IAD), you have two options. A Washington Flyer taxi to the Westin for approximately $60 or you can also take a Washington Flyer Coach (bus) to the West Falls Church Metro Station. Then take a Metro Orange Line train to McPerson Square. Walk three blocks north on 15th Street, turn right on M Street and the Westin City Center will be on your right.
If you are arriving at Baltimore Washington International Airport (BWI), the most efficient transfer to downtown Washington, DC is by train. The local MARC trains provide service from the BWI Rail Station to Union Station in Washington, DC. There is a free shuttle bus service between the airport terminal and rail station. Amtrak trains are quicker but a little more costly. Take either train to Union Station, then take a Metro red line train to the Farragut North station. Walk three blocks east on K Street, then 2 blocks north to M Street, and the Westin city Center will be on your right.
