In 2002, this special forum was co-hosted by the Management Association for Private Photogrammetric surveyors (MAPPS) and the United States Geological Survey (USGS), National Mapping Division. Participating organizations included the American Congress on Surveying and Mapping, American Society for Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing, Federal Emergency Management Agency, Federal Geographic Data Committee, National Association of Counties, NASA Commercial Remote Sensing Program, NOAA - National Ocean Service, NOAA Coastal Services Center, USDA Foreign Agricultural Service, National Capital Planning Commission, and the US Army Corps of Engineers.
