Firm Profile & Capabilities
Since 1984, EMC, Inc. has been perfecting its role as a surveying company offering turnkey solutions for both routine and complex surveying challenges. To assure our role as a quality-surveying provider, we have built a strong Professional Surveying Team with the resources, knowledge, and equipment to deliver comprehensive surveys. We are a multi-discipline survey company encompassing the disciplines of Topographic, Hydrographic, Geophysical and Geodetic Survey and have conducted thousands of land and marine surveys in over 30 states for federal, state and local government entities as well as various private and public companies. EMC is dedicated to being one of the best survey firms in the country.

EMC’s Ground Based Mobile LiDAR systems utilize the ground level perspective of terrestrial scanners with mobile capabilities that can better serve the demanding mapping industry. This ground view captures the elevations, as well as other assets (i.e. signs, bridges, power poles, etc.) that would not be visible in the vertical aerial perspective. Our team offers a turn-key solution for collecting survey grade, highly accurate and detailed LiDAR data. By mounting our Ground Based Mobile LiDAR systems (VMX – 450) to the top of our surveying vehicles we are able to safely collect LiDAR data and photograph along roads, railroads, levees and waterways at speeds up to 70 mph during the day or night.

EMC’s V-Line 3D Terrestrial Laser Scanner RIEGL VZ-400 provides high speed, non-contact data acquisition using a narrow infrared laser beam and a fast scanning mechanism. The system is a very compact and lightweight surveying instrument, mountable in any orientation and even under limited space conditions. We have utilized our system for mapping of roadways, bridges and rail corridors (e.g. route inventory, noise protection, clearance gauge), waterways, ports, and harbors (e.g. river banks, jetties, cliffs) as well as extended urban and vacant areas. EMC also uses this system for surveying and engineering measurements, as-built surveying, road and bridge modeling and any civil engineering project where our clients need fast accurate data.

Our staff includes Professional Land Surveyors with registrations in Mississippi, Florida, Tennessee, Arkansas, Alabama, Oklahoma, North Carolina, New Mexico, Montana, North and South Dakota and Kentucky. We also have a Certified Hydrographic Surveyor. EMC has over 29 years experience performing various types of surveys such as horizontal and vertical control surveys, automated Total Stations / Data Collectors topographic surveys, GPS RTK surveys and single and multi-beam hydrographic surveys.
