The MAPPS Board of Directors has adopted a new policy for calculating the dues of Regular Member Firms. Rather than using the total employment workforce of a Regular Member Firm, dues are now based on the number of employees "engaged in professional geospatial services". That means dues are based on the number of employees in the firm where the majority of an employee’s time is involved in the planning, estimating, creation, collection, measurement, analysis, dissemination, location, re-selling and preparation of geo-referenced data to depict natural or manmade physical features, phenomena, or boundaries of the earth, geospatial intelligence, asset inventory, and any information related to such data, including any such data that comprises a survey, map, chart, report, web content, architectural or engineering design, geographic information system, remotely sensed mobile, bathymetric, airborne, satellite or terrestrial image or data.
2015 dues invoices are being sent to all firms, beginning with those whose anniversary date is January 1. This new policy and calculations applies to all such invoices.
