MAPPS 2015
Geospatial Products and Services Excellence Awards
Call for Entries - Deadline: October 31, 2015
The ninth annual MAPPS Geospatial Products and Services Awards will be presented to Regular and Associate Member firms whose entries exemplify the professionalism, value, integrity and achievement of the firm's staff as demonstrated over the previous year.

A distinguished and impartial panel of five judges will evaluate the submitted projects from eight categories: airborne and satellite data acquisition; photogrammetry/elevation data generation; remote sensing; GIS/IT; surveying/field data collection; small projects; technology innovation; and, licensed data products. This panel will review each submission and select a winner for each category. A Grand Award will be presented from the category award winners to represent the MAPPS Project of the Year.

What makes a good project? What returns and benefits can your firm gain by submitting a project? Review a webinar conducted by three members of the MAPPS Board of Directors and past award winners for valuable tips on marketing and project preparation.
Showcasing the Year's Best Projects
All submitted projects will be recognized for their contribution to the geospatial profession. These awards provide an opportunity for our members to obtain national recognition and to showcase their projects at a special reception.

Award winners will now be announced at the Awards reception at the 2016 MAPPS Winter Meeting in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Eligibility
Any MAPPS Regular Firm or Associate Member Firm in good standing is eligible to enter the awards program.
General Criteria
1. Entries must be submitted in accordance with the rules and requirements on this page.
2. Associate Member Firms may only submit for Categories G & H. Regular Member Firms may submit for all categories.
3. Regular Member Firms may submit only one project for each category. Firms may submit separate project entries for different categories, but the same project cannot be submitted more than once. Each project must be submitted separately in accordance with the rules and requirements on this page.
4. MAPPS shall not be responsible for any damage to or loss of an entrant’s submittal.
5. Projects entered into the competition may have been executed anywhere in the world and final deliverables must have been accepted by the client between January 1, 2014 and May 31, 2015. Technology Innovations (Category G) and Licensed Data Products (Category H) must have been introduced into the marketplace between January 1, 2014 and May 31, 2015.
6. Entries are due by October 31, 2015: completed on-line Awards Entry Form, a bound submission (i.e. notebook, spiral, or GBC), a photographic display in compliance with the entry rules, and payment of a $250 entry fee.
7. The judges reserve the right to determine the eligibility and category classification for all entries.
Publicity
All winners will be highlighted by MAPPS with press releases, reprints for MAPPS use, and the use of the entry materials at trade shows and conferences throughout the year to demonstrate the exemplary work performed by MAPPS members, which also indirectly benefit all MAPPS members and the profession in general. The Grand Award Winner is invited to present the project at a luncheon with Federal agencies at the MAPPS Federal Programs Conference in conjunction with the National Surveying, Mapping and Geospatial Conference in Washington, DC scheduled for March 14-18, 2016. The public relations and marketing value for participation in the awards program will be considerable and, where applicable, your client/owner will be highlighted in the process. Further benefits are gained through feature stories presented in firm brochures, newsletters, and other publications.
