2020 Slate of Board Members Announcement

The MAPPS Nominations Committee Chairperson, Mitch Long of GRW Aerial Surveys, Inc.is excited to announce the results of the Board nominations process.

Working with the Chair on this important committee were Jim Brainard, R.E.Y Engineers, Inc., Jeff Lower, IIC Technologies, Inc., Carlos Prieto, SurvTech Solutions, and Aaron Schepers, Cornerstone Mapping, Inc.

The process began with selecting the nominations committee and publishing the call for interest in serving on the MAPPS Board. The cutoff date for expression of interest in serving on the board was June 15, 2020. Prior to the deadline, the committee received letters of interest from numerous MAPPS members. We appreciate the willingness of these individuals to serve the MAPPS organization and encourage all members to become more involved by submitting your name for future Board positions. Remember this is your organization!

After reviewing the interested candidates, Mitch Long reports that it is the recommendation of the committee to nominate and elect the following slate of new Board members:

Congratulations and thank you to these candidates for volunteering to serve MAPPS and the geospatial profession. The Nominations Committee would also like to thank those who submitted letters of interest but were not selected. New Board positions are open each year, so we encourage everyone to get involved.

The Board elections will take place during the MAPPS Annual Business Meeting in late summer 2020.

Please note that additional nominations may be made from the floor during the Annual Business Meeting, only if filed in advance. The deadline for notifying President Mark Brooks of a nomination from the floor is August 1, 2020.
