Every year MAPPS selects some of its top industry priorities to take to our Member of Congress. In 2020 MAPPS will be visiting members of Congress during the week of March 23-27, 2020 as part of our joint conference with ILMF that week. Below are some of the images from our 2019 Hill Day.
The 2019 Hill Day in Washington was an incredibly successful day, and together, nearly 60 MAPPS members representing 17 states visited with 66 different Members of Congress or their staff to advocate and educate policymakers about the private sector geospatial industry and the issues we are facing. Additionally, this visit provided our membership an invaluable opportunity to highlight our successful federal partnerships across the board. AS a member of MAPPS your participation in Hill Day is extremely important as members hearing form their constituents makes a significant difference in their issue focus. MAPPS usually brings just 3 to 4 main topics to the Hill for members to advocate, but any member can raise an issue for consideration prior to the agenda being prepared for Hill Day. Just submit the issue at a legislative affair committee (LAC) meeting for consideration or email the LAC Chairman.
