MAPPS longstanding position that governments at all levels should reduce unfair competition, increase private sector opportunities and enhance a state's utilization of geospatial technologies to make government more efficient. Below are issues that MAPPS has brought to the attention of state officials.

Government Reform & Utilization of Geospatial Technologies

In early 2012 MAPPS sent a letter to the governors of all 50 states. Following the 2012 elections governors are beginning to implement changes to improve the operation of their state governments, lower costs, increase productivity, reduce the size of government, balance the budget and create private sector jobs.In this letter, MAPPS provides a "checklist" of issues affecting the private sector geospatial community for each governor to review in his or her own state.
