Map-It-Once, Use-It-Many-Times (MIO-UIMT) ActA GAO report, Congressional hearings in the 111th Congress, and other studies have highlighted the need to reform and redesign how mapping and geographic information activities are funded and managed at the Federal level to eliminate wasteful duplication, improve governance and coordination, and maximize the use of state-of-the art mapping and geospatial technologies.
