Federal Liaisons
MAPPS has had standing committees with agency partners since 2003. These Federal Agency Liaison committees allow for a dialog between the private sector and their government partners. Meetings generally take place two times per year including at the Federal Programs Conference in March. Presentations and notes from the meeting are all posted in the appropriate liaison group.
Provide liaison between MAPPS and the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) for the identification, discussion and cooperative resolution of issues of mutual interest and affecting the relationship between the agency and private geospatial firms.

The USDOT Liaison serves as MAPPS' primary representative to the U.S. Department of Transportation (USDOT), fostering relationships with department leadership, monitoring legislation, policies, funding opportunities, and transportation initiatives that impact the geospatial industry, with particular emphasis on infrastructure investment, transportation planning, surveying and mapping, remote sensing, GIS, digital twins, asset management, and emerging technologies that support the nation's transportation systems.

The NGA Liaison serves as MAPPS' primary representative to the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA), building and maintaining relationships with agency leadership and key program offices to strengthen collaboration between NGA and the private-sector geospatial community.
The liaison monitors NGA priorities, acquisition strategies, contracting opportunities, and emerging initiatives related to geospatial intelligence (GEOINT), mapping, remote sensing, artificial intelligence, machine learning, digital engineering, data integration, and other technologies that support national security and defense missions.
